Announcing: Young Publishers Mentoring Program

“If there's a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.” In 1993, Toni Morrison became the first Black woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Are you a young writer with a story to tell? Are you in a publishing-related field and willing to share your expertise with young writers?

Pierce Press and members of the IPNE Board are designing a mentoring program for emerging young writers (ages 18-30) who are currently under-represented in the publishing field. This initiative is intended as a free online service to empower young writers to publish their own books, and perhaps to become publishers in their own right.

The initiative will focus on the tools of publishing - so actually how to get a book an ISBN number and how to get it edited, designed, printed or converted to an e-book, marketed, and distributed. We won't coach young authors on how to write, but we will guide them on the nuts and bolts of book production and marketing!
