    Dear IPNE group,

    We have some exciting news!

If you are a member of *both* IPNE and IBPA you are eligible to apply for the Pub-U Scholarship developed by IBPA.

As you may know, one of your IPNE member benefits is a reduced rate on a membership to IBPA - Independent Book Publishers Association. If you're not already an IBPA member, see our webpage http://www.ipne.org/Join_IBPA_too for more information on joining IBPA.

IBPA’s scholarship program provides you an opportunity to attend the IBPA’s annual Publishing University (May 24-25, 2010 in New York City) for those of you who are interested in developing your publishing company further.

Applications will be submitted directly to IPNE, not to IBPA. The scholarships are intended for publishers who need assistance in growing his or her company. The recipient will be able to attend at no charge all seminars during the two-day Pub-U program, all food functions, and the Benjamin Franklin Awards Ceremony.  All that we ask in return is that you share your experiences with the IPNE group via a report that will be posted on our website.

    Scholarship applicants must be:
    - members of both IPNE and IBPA
    - actively participating in the publishing process as the publisher or key employee of a publishing company
    - in a position to benefit immediately from the scholarship.

    The scholarship application asks:
    1. Tell us a little about your experience (if any) in the publishing business.
    2. Tell us about your future plans in the publishing industry.
    3. What do you hope to gain from attending the 2010 IBPA Publishing University?
    4. How do you plan to share the information you gather at the University with other members of your affiliate group?

The estimated value of the scholarship is $750. It includes:
    - Full attendance at the IBPA Publishing University
    - Attendance to the Benjamin Franklin Awards ceremony
    - Networking opportunities with peers and mentors
    - Face-to-face access to some of the most respected names in the world of publishing
    - Special event bringing together all scholarship recipients

Please download the application from this webpage: http://www.ipne.org/scholarship .

Please email your completed application to ExecutiveDirector@ipne.org, no later than Friday March 12th, 5:00pm.
